Enkei PF01 Update

According to Brian at Good-Win-Racing.com, the new Enkei PF01 will come in at 12.8lbs. Not terrible. I also noticed in Enkei's literature that they've put a comment next to the 15x7 stating that was during engineering. I feel confident. with the 8 wide at 12.8lbs, they should have brought the 7's weight down significantly as well.

You can pre-order the 15x8 from Good-Win-Racing.com, again that is a 15x8 +35 at 12.8lbs, $229 each.

Unfortunately for Enkei, they still need to worry about 949Racing's 2nd Generation 6UL, 15x8 +36 at 12.4lbs, $159 each. In fact, you can get the 6UL in a 15x9 +36 at 12.7lbs, $189 each!

I was really excited for the release of this wheel and am actually a bit disappointed. The 15x7 +35 RPF1 weighs in at 9.9lbs. According to the Enkei Racing and Tuning Catalog for 2010, the PF01 of the same spec was listed at 12lbs. I fear what the 15x8 will weigh. How will it compete with 949Racing's 2nd Generation 6UL in almost identical spec (15x8 +36) and weighing in at only 12.4lbs?

Hmm... "The PF01 is engineered to exceed the RPF1’s weight benefit, taking Enkei’s light-weight racing wheel line to the next level."

The larger wheels do actually become lighter than similar spec RPF1s.
